Our french-braided gymnast

Is it just me or is this child seriously looking more grown up? This is the question I keep asking Doug every other day when I look at Delaney. I feel like overnight she's morphed into this mini-teenagerish kind of girl who's chewing gum, listening to Lady Gaga, painting her nails & toenails blue, monopolizing my I-pod touch to play her games, and threatening her sister with timeout for not listening. As much I love this girl, I'm already starting to dread her teenage years. Because if this is a taste of what's to come, I'm very afraid.

Whatcha reading?

I finished this book two nights ago and have been dying to blog about how much I LOVE it. This book is wonderful. The Help by Kathryn Stockett is definitely a must read! And before I give a brief synopsis, I am supposed to mention to you all that Doug bought me this for Christmas. He wants credit for picking out such a good book so here it goes.....thanks dear!

This book is written in the 60's and takes place in Mississippi during segregation. It's written in 3 different perspectives. I must say, it's one of the BEST books I've read in a while. The Help made me thankful to Martin Luther King, Jr. in all he did to help achieve his dream of making everyone equal. Words really fail to express what I took away from reading this book. I highly recommend it and think you'll be enjoy it as much if not more than I did.

Let me go order my copy RIGHT now!!!!

Oh YES it is! Today is a glorious day because I (and you by the way) can pre-order your copy of New Moon on DVD. Oh yeah! Now...if we could just get a sneak preview of Eclipse it would be like the best day ever! Seriously.

Sinfully good....

These pictures don't even do justice to my new favorite treat! They are strawberries dipped in sour cream sprinkled with brown sugar. Dammit if they're not the most delicious thing ever. I try real hard to have just a few but you know how that goes. No, this is not my invention or creation. I stole it from the good folks at Publix who send me a magazine every month with new recipes and family fun ideas inside. So if you're feeling kinda naughty....you should give this a go!

Blizzard 2010

For all of you that don't live in the south, here's a look at what kind of snow shuts down this entire state. It's this "dusting" of snow that makes people rush out to the grocery store to stock up on bread, milk and water. Schools close for days. Businesses close early for the day and open late in the mornings. Seriously, the entire state shuts itself down. And the sad part, we don't even have enough snow to make a darn snowball!

My little crumbcake....

Isn't she just precious?

Keep her in your prayers because she is the ONLY one of the Alexander Four that has not yet come down with the stomach bug. This is not just any stomach bug but it's like the mother of all bad stomach bugs. If I could barely tolerate it, I don't want this little sweet pea of a two year old to have to suffer through it. On a side note, is she not so adorable with her hair pulled up in a clip taking a bubble bath?! I mean, maybe this look right here is why I find myself completely giving in to her when I know I should not. Make no mistake, this child has trouble written all over her cute little face. But man does she make it look like FUN!

Held up

What do you do when your little sister refuses to go outside and play with you? You kidnap the dog and hold him hostage in your cottage. Lucky for Buddy, he looks like he's being treated well.

Just one

D: Mom, I'm gonna have just one baby when I get older. I don't want two anymore, just one.

Me: Why? What happened to having two babies?

D: I just want one so they won't fight over toys.

Clearly big sister is having issues lately sharing with little bitty. Poor Delaney. It must suck to have to share the thousands of toys she has. Sigh.

Top 5 List

Drum roll please.......................................after 8 years of joking around with Doug, I have finally finished making my "Top 5 list." For those of you that don't have a clue what I'm talking about, go rent the Friends series. It came from one of my favorite episodes ever! Without delay, let me present to you:

Katie's Top 5

1. Russell Crowe (think Gladiator)

2. Eric Bana (aka Hector from Troy)

3. Gerard Butler

4. Robert Pattinson

5. Kevin McKidd (Dr. Hunt on Grey's Anatomy)

Please do NOT email me with reasons why you think someone should be removed from this list. It won't happen! It's taken me 8 years to devise this list and as far as I'm concerned, it's pretty good. It's so good I think I'm going to laminate it.....
